revelation: an act of revealing or communicating divine truth; something that is revealed by God to humans.
†Christianity.†Jesus† (Yeshua),†and† three of his disciples, Peter (Shimon), James (Ya'akov), and John (Yochanan) go to a mountain to pray. There Jesus (Yeshua) begins to shine with† bright rays of light. Then the prophets Moses and Elijah appear next to him and he speaks with them. Then a†"voice" from above is heard calling Yeshua "my son."
Number of witnesses: 3
Islam.††Mohammed sits alone and is reflecting on morality, his people, and human behavior. While in contemplation†he is visited by the archangel Jibril (Gavriel) who revealed to him the beginnings of a book that would eventually become the Quran.†
Location: A cave called Hira on a mountain Jabal an-Nour, near††† Mecca.††
Number of witnesses: O
Judaism. God appears to Moses and in the space of 40 days and nights, teaches him most of the commandments in the Torah.
Location: Mount Sinai.
Number of witnesses: approximately 3 million.
Three million witnesses--a little difficult to ascribe to a mass hallucination. If we can accept the testimony a several witnesses about seeing a UFO, then it should be easy to accept an event experienced by 3 million!
Quran: accepted only by Muslims.
New Testament: accepted by Christians and, theoretically, Muslims.
Torah: validity accepted by Christians, Muslims, and Jews.
