Midtown East, New York

by The Wandering Jew

Sakagura is a fun, tasty speakeasy like Izakaya restaurant. Located in the basement of an office building in Midtown East, you will lose cell service when you go downstairs. The height of the restaurant ceiling may surprise you and there are cute enclosed spaces for tables and an elevated dining area by the sushi bar.

The food is good and the service is impeccable. The prices are not cheap and it is correspondingly best to dress in business casual. You will want to make a reservation and be prepared to enjoy some more traditional Japanese food. This is a great place for a more serious date or dinner with colleagues or friends.
