A new addition to the Upper East Side, Amarena is exquisite Italian food in a charming townhouse.
Nestled on a side street, the entrance is easily missed so do pay attention to building numbers if you decide to go.
The staff is warm and professional, but the star is the food. The burrata and the carciofi were delicious. The campanelle, agnolotti, and linguini were delicious.
The ambiance is demure and upscale. The space lends itself to an intimate dinner though it is not only for romance. There were plenty of families dining there.
The only quibble I would have is that the pasta portions were not big.
The prices are reasonable, especially for a high end restaurant in New York. Make a reservation and enjoy a superb meal.
