A staple of downtown dating, Angel Share was a well regarded speakeasy discreetly connected to the kitschy, tasty, and sadly no longer Village Yokocho izakaya. A speakeasy that adapted to Covid by serving drinks with street seating, it is being reincarnated in the West Village.
While there may no longer be a backdoor entrance from a fun izakaya dinner, Angel Share will undoubtedly offer excellent cocktails in a sophisticated setting.
When it reopens be sure to try it but be patient; if it’s anything like its forbear, wait times will be high. Fortunately, the hosts are professional, will abide by the order on the list and will not rush you when it’s your turn.
