Anita’s is a relatively recent arrival to the US in the past few years and has quickly expanded from its singular, incredibly popular Upper East location to NoMad and Times Square. The line at the Upper East side location (and indeed NoMad; we have not passed the Times Square location yet) wind around the block.
The gelateria is the US arm of the Israeli chain Golda, which became a mainstay for Tel Avivians and others during the pandemic due to the high quality and terrific delivery, especially packaging. Anita’s boasts delicious flavors, helpful staff that will gladly make recommendations and overfill your cup. This is a phenomenal date spot as well as a place to go for dessert or on a casual weekend afternoon. The decor is tasteful and the atmosphere is jovial, which a gelato place should be!
Note that the delivery for Anita’s in the US is excellent, utilizing well designed containers and guilded pouches. The toppings that can be ordered separately are also delicious. All the flavors are delicious so choose based on your preferences. There are tables inside and outside at the Upper East side location.
