Located next to the iconic salsa spot Ball and Chain, Azucar is an institution. It features dozens of ice cream flavors, many of which pay homage to its Cuban roots.

To those that don’t speak Spanish, “azucar” means sugar, which is fitting since cream tends to be really sweet!

Flavors include Cuatro Leches or Maria Abuela, which is guava with cream cheese and maria cookies. The staff is very helpful and will let you try quite a few.

While the line can be long, this is worth the wait. Take a date on a weekend afternoon and enjoy a taste of Cuba at a reasonable price.
