Located on the heart of the Upper East Side, EJ’s Luncheonette is a neighborhood institution having been around for over 30 years. Originally boasting a location on the Upper West Side and downtown, it has consolidated to this singular one.
EJ’s was ahead of the curve in installing an in house software delivery system in the 1990s. Since then they have maintained a loyal customer base because the food is consistently high quality, the prices are reasonable though far from cheap and, in a neighborhood bereft of diners and other casual sit down spots, is a rarity.
Come to EJs for breakfast, brunch or dinner. The pancakes, eggs, tuna melts and assorted sandwiches are all quite good. The service is efficient. The decor is 1950s kitschy and the ambiance is definitely more kid and family oriented.
Note that it does not take reservations so you may have to wait for a table though with Covid the restaurant created outdoor sheds that have added to capacity.
