Falafel Tanami is a hidden gem. This has the best hummus in New York City. The falafel are superb and rank with Tamam and Shabazi.
For Tanami, you’d have to travel to Midwood and you’d find the cute space off the main drag with a red awning and a few tables outside and one inside. This is a very religious Jewish neighborhood and the staff at Tanami, who are hispanic, all seem to be familiar with Jewish dietary laws. They are also extremely nice.
The hummus is phenomenal and not expensive. Likewise, the half pita falafel is delightful. Get everything in it. If you enjoy hot sauce make sure to ask for extra on the side. We are not sure if theirs is made in house, but regardless it is phenomenal. This is a hidden gem and we think it merits a trip deep into the heart of Brooklyn.
