Fini Pizza is a scene. While Dave Portnoy of One Bite gave the Williamsburg location (there are two) poor reviews and google reviews are similarly underwhelming, he may have caught it on an off day when it recently opened. Make no mistake – this is excellent pizza as he found visiting the Amagansett location.
If you go on a Saturday night as your resident pizza aficionado undertook, you will be blown away by the scene. It is packed. The single line to order moves and the person responsible for calling out ready orders is highly efficient. There are probably 10 people making pizza under the necessarily powerful air conditioner in the kitchen area. It’s hard to miss the condensation that forms just below it.
The pizza is not cheap, but it is reasonably priced. There are regular slices and sicilian as well as grandma. The white slice with lemon is a personal favorite. The long tails (hot pepper) slice is decent as is the cheese. The focaccia and the grandma were great. The dough is crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside. If you’re hungry or need a refresher afterwards, try one of the ices. The coconut was a surprising treat.
Fini may not be a date spot, but it is excellent pizza and worth a visit if you’re out with friends or just want a quick slice of pizza while you people watch. Located on Bedford, it’s a great place to eat while sitting at the counter by the window.
