Golden Diner has become an instagram favorite with its fusion of cuisines in a trendy backdrop. Set up as an old school diner, the restaurant features diner staples like tuna melts and egg sandwiches, both with house twists, alongside korean wings and chicken katsu.
The diner is in the Two Bridges area and the street it’s located on is fairly quiet. The restaurant is small, with a handful of tables and counter seats. If you don’t have a reservation, offer to sit in one of the tables in the outdoor shed or be prepared to wait. Speaking of which, there is only 1 bathroom so plan accordingly.
The service is pleasant, the prices are reasonable (for New York), and the food is good if not excellent. The chips in the tuna melt add a salty taste and crunchy texture while the egg sando with a scallion bun is a nice touch. Try this place if you’re passing through, but don’t make a special trip. There is too much good food elsewhere in the city to inconvenience yourself.
