Tel Avivians have a love affair with hamburgers and it’s fair to say that Holstein feels like a number one flame. Located in the Carmel Market, there is limited counter space inside and a few tables outside set above the street.
It is a fast casual spot with friendly service. There is self ordering, but if you have any issues, the staff is happy to help.
The shop is named for the type of cow that the meat comes from and the owner is a butcher. It is not kosher. It is, however, incredible.
Try the egg on the classic burger and get a side of fries, which are also crunchy and superb. The food is fairly priced, served in a useful cardboard tray with slots for condiments. This is worth a trip – there are other great burgers in Tel Aviv such as GDB and Vitrina, but this one is a personal favorite.
