Set on a side street on the Upper East Side, Jones Wood Foundry is a surprisingly tasty British Gastro Pub. While they don’t have a full liquor license (enjoy the wine cocktails), the quality eats more than make up for it.
This is a great place to have a delicious brunch.
When you walk past the narrow bar, you’ll discover a cute courtyard and a couple of other rooms full of tables. The restaurant takes reservations and, while not usually crowded weekdays, it fills up on weekends.
Personal favorites are the house ricotta appetizer, welsh rarebit fondue, grilled cheese as well as fish and chips main course. Of course, more adventurous eaters may try some of the more traditional fare.
Enjoy a pleasant and tasty meal with a date or friends on a leisurely Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Service is pleasant, but often quite slow.
