Kurumazushi sushi is not for the casual sushi diner. It is terrific, expensive and meant for serious dining. Chef Kuruma, who at this point is at least in his 70s, expertly works his knives while the occasional order is barked in Japanese.
Staff are attentive, the decor is serene and minimalist, and the clientele are businessmen and sushi connoisseurs.
Come to Kurumazushi to enjoy an experience more likely to be had in Tokyo than New York with excellent food.
