A welcome addition to New York’s pizza scene, Lions & Tigers & Squares joins Ace’s as delicious Detroit style pizza. Unlike Ace’s, the pizza can be bought by the slice. Located on 23rd street with standing tables, the pizza is made in the characteristic pans, which urban legend suggests were discarded from car factories. Due to the high sides, the pizza ends up with a crispy crust on the sides as well.
The slices are filling and the price, while not cheap, is not eye popping. Personal favorites included vodka and mushroom. We recommend going with a friend to try a few different types as the slices themselves are quite filling.
