Malaparte is a well regarded restaurant in the West Village. The food is good and the prices are reasonable. Given reservations are not especially hard to come by, this is a unique a trifecta, making it a solid date spot. It also has a sister restaurant Malateste nearby.
The Italian dishes at Malaparte are tasty; particular highlights include the rigatoni with pesto, spaghetti porcini, beet salad and pizza funghi. The space has a rustic vibe, the waiters are friendly, but the service is a bit disjointed. It’s worth noting that Malaparte is cash only, so make sure to come prepared with some greenbacks.
