Mimi’s Pizza used to have a solitary location on 84th Street and Lexington Avenue on the Upper East Side. Aside from being one of the only places to grab a quick bite within a couple of blocks, there was nothing remarkable about it.
That location closed a while ago, replaced by a chain pizza store. Recently, Mimi’s opened on 86th Street on the Upper East Side and by 88th Street on the Upper West Side between 87th and 88th on Broadway. The Upper West Side location shocked us – in a great way.
There are plenty of tables, fun decor, nice staff, and most importantly, excellent pizza. The vodka slice, mozzarella sicilian, cheese slice and spinach sicilian all had terrific crusts and great flavor.
This is a terrific addition to the neighborhood and we recommend going to it for a snack or a meal with friends or a significant other because the decor is nicer than a typical pizza joint.
