With two locations, great reviews and long lines around dinner, Norma’s is doing a lot right. The Hell’s Kitchen location is great if you are going to a Broadway show nearby.
Many of the staff are Italian and the food is meant to be elevated red sauce fare. With rustic decorations and a relaxed ambiance, this is a great place to eat inside or, if it’s not too cold, in the enclosed awning.
Besides the charming decor, the food is delectable. The eggplant appetizer (Timballo di melanzane alla parmigiana) and the Norma Arancine were early highlights.
The pizza was delicious – we enjoyed the Funghi trifolati without porchetta. This is a great place to have a wholesome meal; try to avoid peak hours as there can be a wait and hanging out on 9th avenue is no fun.
