With an interior decor resembling a car on the Orient Express, this is a cute bar where it’s always possible to get a table though you might as well make a reservation.
During Covid they started taking reservations for additional outdoor seating and, admittedly, the outdoor area has far less panache.
Year ago it was a great place to have a drink for those suffering the interminable wait at the Spotted Pig. Yet, patrons quickly realized that the cocktails at Orient Express merited an independent trip.
The bartenders are serious and skilled; the staff is professional. While the drinks menu has changed, there is still a good selection. The space is connected to the Turks and Frogs establishment next door and shares owners. Both have mediocre small bites and not enough restrooms.
This is a great place for a date in a terrific location set back from the busier parts of the West Village.
