Serendipity 3 is an institution. On weekends lines form for the famous frozen hot chocolate. Less well known is that it takes reservations and has ample space upstairs. Unfortunately, you can’t take strollers upstairs, but undoubtedly your kids will love it there. This is a truly kid friendly restaurant.
When you enter there will be assorted candies and chocolates for sale by the host stand, but the back of the first floor has a well lamped room and the upstairs feels like a salon out of Alice and Wonderland. The food, which riffs on diner staples, is shockingly good.
The loaded fries (without bacon), mozzarella sticks and so much else were well executed. While it’s hard to mess up fried cheese, Serendipity actually does it really well. Have the frozen hot chocolate, but if you have a real appetite go for the brownie sundae for dessert.
This is a loud and fun venue; go with your toddlers, or your friends toddlers, and prepare to relive the childhood you would have had if you had a credit card.
