Shmuel

Carmel Market, Rabbi Meir St 42, Tel Aviv-Yafo, Israel

by The Wandering Jew

A delightful counter service Yemenite Israeli restaurant, Shmuel reminds shoppers that there is more than tchachkas and fruit available in the bustling Carmel market.

The restaurant is fast casual, kosher and delicious.

It is tight quarters and you’ll see the food prepared in front of you and, better yet, smell the savory spiced meat.

The space is small and can be a bit smoky. The restaurant is only open lunch time. The counter seating adds to the charm as do the pleasant staff.

The food, however, is the star. The kebab and mix grill plates are delicious. The price is reasonable and the visit is well worth it. Please note the floor can be a bit slick and it is not the most handicap accessible so if you have trouble walking, be careful
