Wyle Dufresne of WD50 fame, recently opened Stretch Pizza in Flatiron. It’s really good pizza and makes for a nice casual dining experience. The prices are not eye popping and the drinks are surprisingly good. The food is less eccentric than you might hope for with such a creative chef, but it is well executed.

For starters, the Basil Chickpea Fries and Caesar Salad were good. The pizza crust has a crackly exterior and chewy interior. It’s large enough to be a meal for 1 person, but not so big that you will be verging on food coma territory. The regular pie was quite good and the Old Town with Muenster cheese and pumpernickel seeds was worth trying.

Stretch is a good casual date spot or a nice place to go with friends.
