Sushi Yasu Tanaka is simply exceptional. The food is incredible and the prices are reasonable (cheap for sushi). Located on the second floor of the shopping area in the MIA market, this is a low key omakase that is simply delicious.
The kimono wearing friendly staff will gladly make a ‘kosher’ omakase (ie no shellfish or meat) if you ask. You can order a la carte as well.
The restaurant was founded by Yasu, the former chef from Abazu and current chef at Zz’s nearby. He occasionally works there too, overseeing his dedicated employees.
This is an omakase not to be missed so go shopping with your significant other and, when you’re ready for a break, head upstairs to the food court. There are lots of other great eateries in the food court, but there is truly only one Yasu Tanaka.
