The Garment District has become seedy so be careful if you’re walking to Tabernacle at night. The restaurant has been well received by patrons, but I found it utterly disappointing, particularly given the high price points.
The food was very expensive, the service was amateurish at best, and there was an automatic 18% gratuity included. Normally this would be fine, but for such a poor experience it was inappropriate.
The restaurant itself has 2 levels, it is frequented by business diners and couples. The crowd skews more religious. The staff did not know the dishes well, reverting to stale talking points about kosher meat.
The food was mediocre and the prices were high. Normally I give a restaurant a second chance, but at this price point, there is less margin for error.
