Taverna Kyclades

Taverna Kyclades is an old school Astoria Greek restaurant. The waiters are Greek and can expertly guide you through the menu. All the food is good – ask for recommendations on what fish is best that day – and the prices are incredibly reasonable.

Sadly, the restaurant does not take reservations so expect a long wait to get a table. It is, however, worth it. There is an outpost in Manhattan, but the original is far better.

The restaurant is low key casual and vibe is fun. Imagine the Greek version of a red sauce restaurant and you will have the right mindset to enjoy the experience. While you’re waiting, walk around Astoria and see a truly dynamic neighborhood.
