Since the Cricket Club closed during the pandemic (RIP), the upper west side has been missing an elegant bar. The Wallace Lounge in the Wallace Hotel has filled the void.
It is an elegant space with live music and excellent service. The cocktails are well executed and the decor is demure and classy. The drinks are not cheap; with the assorted nuts and bar food provided to each table, it recalled another wonderful institution, the Upper East Side Bar Pleiades, which has sadly not reopened yet.
The Wallace Lounge is not cheap, but it offers value in that the ambiance and the service are superb. Come here for a date or a solo nightcap.
