Let me begin with a warning. 36th and 9th where Vito’s is located is not an area to walk around casually. In the last few years it has been deluged with homeless people and drug addicts, often a mix of the two. Some of these people are to be avoided.
With that caveat in mind, if you happen to be near Vito’s, it is well worth trying. The pizza is excellent. The vodka and plain slices had excellent sauce and a firm, but chewy crust. The store itself is appealing with a bold yet not overwhelming exterior.
There are a few counters to stand at while you eat. Vito’s will not break the bank, but will leave you satisfied. Just be mindful of your surroundings when you venture to or from there.
